Year-End Review and What’s to Come

Year-End Review and What’s to Come

In two weeks, we’ll be well into the New Year. I don’t know if it’s age or the fact that it is said the Universe is truly moving at a faster rate than before, but thinking about everything that’s transpired over the past 12 months seems like a blur—they’ve flown by in a flash.

2016 was the continuation of much growth started just over two years ago. More writing via this blog, more exploration of creativity, more communication with other creatives in the recently-launched I’m Curious to Know interview series—and I’m looking forward to so much more in 2017.

Throughout the years there’ve been many projects I’ve wanted to attempt but left to the side because I was afraid or did not feel worthy of creating them. This coming year I will commit to fully working on them as I feel called to do: painting, more photography, more words.

Recently, I was called to reflect on this quote and it will be my guiding mantra moving forward:

“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.”
— Rumi

I’m excited to share so much more of my creative life with you all via a new, all-encompassing website dedicated specifically to showcasing my creations, my words, my photos, my wandering. In turn I hope to get to know you and your curiosities, and ignite that spark of curiosity in others.

This It’s Me, Lizzy B blog will continue to exist and evolve as part of the larger site—to continue to explore these lessons of life.

Through this blog, and the curious endeavors I share on Instagram, I’ve discovered that being truly creative, whether in words, or art, or design, is what brings me joy. It is in being joyous that I can be a better human being and thus contribute to the betterment of this world.

This is the last post of the year and I am completely thankful for everyone reading week after week.

I’ll leave you with the most significant lesson I’ve had over the past couple of years:

Just START ... step by step you’ll continue to evolve and get to where you want to be, to where you envision ‘happiness’ is—and when you get closer to that, you’ll realize happiness was always where you were.

Here’s wishing you a safe and blessed Holiday and start to the New Year. See you in 2017!

With much love and gratitude,
